We're baaaaaack!

I know everyone thought I had abandoned our blog and I had, but we're back. We've been very busy and anticipating a makeover for our Satori website. In the meantime, I'll try to post a few things to bring you up to date.
We just finished another successful Science Fair and the projects were amazing. Mrs. C and I couldn't be any prouder.
Also, I am so glad to see so many of the students taking advantage of the IXL website. It's a great tool for improving their math.
Enjoy the slideshow of our Science Fair!

Great First Day

Our first day of school with children was awesome. Their excitement was contagious. We now have a stuffed snake named Bugsy (class vote) hanging from one of our air vents. The snake was part of our Rainforest decor, but the kids were aghast that he/she did not have a name. After much brainstorming and a lot of voting, Bugsy won the vote.I am so thankful for a great class, great parents, and a great aide. It is going to be an amazing year. This is our reading corner with our "Poet"tree behind the "mauve"lous reading chair.

Welcome Back to School!

Welcome back to school! I hope everyone had a great summer and is feeling refreshed. I am very excited about this school year. We have had a few changes so let me bring you up to date. We are still the Explorers, but our room has changed to a Rainforest theme. It looks pretty cool, I must admit. It will look even better once we have student work up. We also have a new addition to our class. Toni Cramer, former parent volunteer and current friend, graciously accepted a position as my aide! We will make an awesome team!
Our Meet the Teacher is scheduled for Wednesday, August 11 at 4:45. We hope to see everyone there. Please check back often for updates, news, and pictures of activities.

Here are some great websites I found this weekend to help with mastering the math facts.Copy the URL address and paste it into your address. If you like it, save it in your Favorites. As always, please monitor your child closely when on the internet. Enjoy!

This one is for parents who want to print their own worksheets.

We are using this one at school. The basic addition is free, but I think there is a charge for home use.

Satori Science Fair by Ashley, Avery, Charlotte, Eli and Traye

Science Fair was great! Lots of kids in our class got awards. Everyone did an outstanding job and some people even got special awards.
Everyone in our class got an award from our teacher. The judges posted comments on our boards and that helped us learn for next year. However, some of us didn't get comments. It was hard work, but it was definitely worth it. Enjoy our slide show!
